The Playroom

Even though this house is smaller than our last house we have a 'bonus' room.  We made it a playroom/television room for the kids.  It is nice to have a place to send your kids and close the door every now and then.  Am I right?

 We already had the shelving around the television.  It is from Ikea and it fits perfectly.  Like it was meant to be.  We still need to hang the television on the wall, for obvious reasons (there are a million tiny hand prints on it already).

I have put a few random things on the shelves. This jar has blocks in it and the little owl is a purchase from Ross last year.

 This is the left hand wall when you walk in the room.  The pictures are of the kids when they were newborns and a few of my husband and me when we were young.

 I found this scale at Goodwill a while back and I made the blocks with paper and Modge Podge.

 I hung(yes with a drill!;)) this coat rack my husband made with his grandpa when he was a kid, next to the door.

 The sofa is also from our old house.  We purchased it from Ikea a couple of years ago.  The white slipcovers have held up pretty well to numerous washes.  I purchased the rug from RugsUSA.com when we moved into this house.  Chevron.  I love it.

 This apothecary chest of drawers was one of the first pieces of furniture I ever bought.  It is from World Market.  It used to have little black ring pulls and feet.  I took the feet off and ordered these label pulls from eBay.  I cut paper the size of the label opening and inserted them in.

 This map of the United States was actually a free printable I had printed on card stock at Office Max and glued on the background of this frame.  The frame is from Ikea.

Here is the room when we bought it.  It didn't even have a window.
