Pallet Bookshelves

As I am sure most of you know, kids have a lot of books.  It is nice to have a place to store them where you can see the covers since kid's books covers are so cute. I've been seeing a lot of pallet bookshelves on Pinterest and thought I would give it a try.  One of the great things about pallets is that they are FREE.  You can usually find a couple of posts for them on Craigslist.  Forgive me for not taking a picture of the pallet before but all we did was saw off both ends and take two slats from the top.  The two slat are nailed to either end to make the bottom for each box.
Then I tried to sand off as many of the splitters as I could.  (Had I to do this project again I would have used pallets that had wood in a little better shape.)  I was hoping the polyurethane would help with the splinters too.
After putting two coats of the spray on I decided to use the polyurethane out of a can and brush it on so I could apply it more liberally.  Then it was just a matter of hanging them up.  J found the studs in the wall and used 2 wood screws to attach it to the wall.
Now I have a few more places to store books.  We yanked on them a few time and they are very solid so we won't have to worry about them falling down on the kids.
