Nursery Ledges

I saw this tutorial and knew I wanted to try it in the nursery.  The wall I was going to put my ledges on was not wide enough for 8 ft ledges so I cut each in half to make a total of 4 shelves instead of 2.  Also the ceilings in my room are very high and with 4 ledges it really draws your eye up.

So here is what we did.  You buy the wood and have your handy husband glue and nail it together(to get more details just look at the tutorial).

Then you paint it.  I always keep a gallon of my trim paint that I used in my house that way all my whites match. Since I paint everything white it is nice to have it on hand.

Then I pestered asked ever so sweetly if my husband would help me hang them up.

This was harder than expected since the wall the ledges are on is shared with the bathroom and is slightly bowed.  In the interest of keeping it real, here is a picture of what happened.

Three holes where one should be.:(  I should probably fill in the other holes and touch up the paint but for now it just made it easy to decide where to set my pictures.
Next you fill up your ledges. Voila!

These shelves really do cost $10 to make or in my case $5.;) 

I should insert a disclaimer here:  I am the mastermind behind all the projects but am blessed in that I have a VERY handy husband who helps/does everything to make them happen.
