Shortly after moving in, I found elephant fabric that I really liked. I copied the elephant onto a huge poster board and traced around it with pencil and then colored them in with craft paint. The room kind of stayed that way for the last 7 months. Then when moving around the rooms and finishing the kids' room the nursery kind of took shape.
J built this bed for our daughter when we moved her out of the crib. It is a full mattress with a beaded board headboard running lengthwise and a frame around the bottom. The yellow comforter is from Target. The throw is actually a picnic blanket from World Market (and I think it has been in every room I have taken pictures of so far. It moves around a lot). One of the pillows is covered in the aforementioned elephant fabric and the other one is just a plain white fabric with an 'R' I cut out of felt and used fabric glue to attach.
The elephants on the wall. Before I knew what gender our baby was I decided to either add bow ties or hair bows. One little boy later, bow ties it is. I found 3 gift bags in designs I like from the dollar section at Target and cut out the bow ties. Taped them on the wall. Voila : fancy elephants.
Speaking of picture frames. Moving from a bigger house to a smaller one I have less wall space and thus have picture frames I needed a place to hang. I made a few picture collages on either side of the window.
The gray curtains are from IKEA and the banner was made out of the fabric I used to recover my dining chairs.
I moved the tripod lamp in from the family room because it matched the gray and yellow color scheme. I love that lamp.
The closet is covered with a shower curtain from Target ($5 on clearance).
The nursery.
Ok, I promised I would stop lurking and start commenting. You are a genius. I love this room. Keep showing us how you do it. Maybe when my little bundle of energy goes to Mothers Day Out this August, I will actually attempt one of these awesome projects! :)
