Family Frame

I have printed out more of my Instagram pictures so I wanted a bigger frame to display them all.  This was the frame I had previously:
I had some leftover molding in my garage so I cut it to size and used a nail gun to attach it to the wall.  I added an extra piece of molding at the top to make it look more substantial.  I then painted it and the wall behind it white.  Once I had it up on the wall I wasn't quite sure how to put the pictures up (string 'em, tape 'em?) .  So I decided to do something all together different.  My sister brought her projector up and I traced the word family on the wall.  I used craft paint to color it in.

I am working on something else for my Instagram pictures.  I like how it worked out and as soon as I get tired of it I can easily paint it.  Here are a few more pictures of the family room after all the Christmas decorations have been boxed up.

The zigzag blanket is a baby blanket from Target.  I made the checkered pillows from some napkins.
I think I could rename this blog 'What My Mantle Looks Like This Week'.
The owl was a Christmas present.  Isn't it cute?  That is our Christmas picture.
The Joy to the World was a free printable I found online and had printed on cardstock at Staples for a few bucks.  The little spikey thing is from Target, also a Christmas present.
I did this whole project by myself: cut the pieces with the saw, used the nail gun to attach it to the wall, painted.  I am still easing into asking my husband to do any projects around here.;)  May God bless you all in the New Year!
