House Crash

This is my first house crash on the ol' blog.  For those of you who are not familiar with what a house crash is, I just basically show you around someone else's house or show you another person's project.  Today those people are my brother and sister-in-law.  They live down the street from us and moved into their house around the same time we did, about a year and a half ago.  They remodeled their master bath about a year ago.  And then in an effort to test both their sanity and their marriage they decided to put hardwood floors throughout their entire house and completely renovate their kitchen.  Did I mention it was during Christmas.  Crazy kids.
This is what their kitchen looked like before:

Not terrible.  But not super efficient.  If you know my brother-in-law then you know he is a fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants kind of guy.  So when he decided to redo the kitchen I believe my sister-in-law had a day to clean out her stuff before demolition started.  Therefore her backyard looked like this:

Thank goodness for Arizona Christmas weather.
Then demolition started:

I think my sister-in-law still has nightmares about all that dust.
But, I think it is safe to say, all the stress and mess was well worth it.
Light, bright, white!

They changed the layout a little to have more space.  What was going to otherwise be wasted space is now a bookshelf for all her cookbooks.
The floors next to the white cabinets.  Ahhhh.  Granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances.  Oh my.
They even have those self closing drawers.  I know!  So jealous.
Building a surround around a refrigerator really gives a kitchen a high end look.  Don't you think.

Great job guys.  I will be dropping by to lie on the floor in the middle of your kitchen and breath it all in.  Often.
