The Ranch

We are......MOVING. (How many of you thought I was going to say something else?)  Well, the big news is we closed on a house yesterday.  We weren't even in the market for a house but this one seemed to be the right choice for our family.  It is a nice little house:

Just kidding.  Not about moving but that is not the house we are moving into.  The following pictures are not a joke.  We are actually moving into this 'house' (you will see why I used quotes after you view the pictures).
'But Anna, that looks like a weird shed thing-y. '   I know it is rough looking.  We think it was previously the meeting place for a small church.  Hence, no garage doors and a random set of French doors.  One of the first things on the extremely long list of things to do is put a garage door in place of that opening on the left. Once you go through that opening there is a garage space and then a little house attached on the back of that. This is standing in the garage and looking toward that same opening.
And this is the house.  Yes, there are a set of French doors and a bedroom window that open into the garage.  We are removing those doors and making that a wall.

Let's head on in shall we?
It is a great room with the kitchen on the left and the living room on the right.
There are 4 bedrooms off of that room. The 2 older kids will share this room.
This will be the nursery.
This will be a playroom.  There are no windows in this room.
 The spacious master bedroom.
And last but not least, the bathroom that we will all be sharing.

Okay, you may be asking yourself, what are they thinking (I ask that myself, sometimes)?  My husband and I want a different lifestyle for our kids.  We want them to be able to run and have animals and be a little free-er in this life.  This house has 5 acres and a well.  It is less than 4 miles from our previous home.  It is less than 5 miles from a Target.  We have wonderful views of the mountains.

We hope to eventually be able to build a home on the property and use this house as a guest house.  Until that time, I have plans for this little house.  Are we crazy?  Yes, but that has nothing to do with buying this property.  Do you see the potential?  It is over there behind the swamp cooler and the pile of rocks that I pretty sure was the burial ground of the previous owners pet goat.  Pray for us. (Scratch that, pray for me.  My husband and kids are on cloud nine).
On a side note, does anyone want to rent a beautifully remodeled home in Oro Valley with sparkling pool and hot tub?;)
