Kitchen tour

I am back!  I finally feel like doing projects again now that the baby is 6 weeks old and I am ready to have him out of my room.  I am switching up the 2 older kids' room (yes, again) in anticipation of moving my son out of his crib and into a bed (wish us luck!).  I will be posting more projects from that room soon.

In the meantime, the only room I haven't really 'toured' yet on the blog is the kitchen, so here you go.
This is what the kitchen looked like after the renters moved out.  As you can see they left it a disaster.

Yes, I did say AFTER they moved out.  We had to throw so many things away.  I am cringing looking at these pictures and remembering cleaning everything up.  Oh well, all's well that ends well.
It has come a long way.

As you can see I have a globe collection on top of the cabinets.  I am always on the lookout for more.
We upgraded all our appliances before we moved out 4 years ago so it was nice to have them already match when we moved back.  I recently purchased the drawer pulls and the knobs were on the cabinets already.
My mom bought me the light at Ikea for Christmas.  It was a can light but you can buy a kit (at HD) so it is compatible a pendant.
I put my lotion and soap (dispensers are Target) and a timer on a little tray (Target) because I think everything looks nicer and more organized on a tray.  The scale I found at GW.
For a little reference, there is the chalkboard that I blogged about previously.

The bread box on top of the refrigerator is from Salvation Army and the little metal drawer (rummage sale) holds my recipes.

So there you go.  My little white kitchen.  Like I said, I hope to be back soon with bedroom updates.  God bless your week!
